Kate qualified as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Northumbria in 2001. Since then Kate has developed a wide range of knowledge and experience having worked with a variety of client groups in a variety of different settings.
Kate's qualifications are a BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy and she is a trained Wheelchair Assessor. Kate has also undertaken further training in the fields of postural management and seating.
Makin Life Easier was founded in 2009 and since then has grown and developed into an organisation offering a wide range of Occupational Therapy services. We are a family run business and all assessments are carried out by Kate Makin, a fully qualified and state registered Occupational Therapist.
Makin Life Easier works closely with some of the main disability equipment suppliers in order to provide a seamless service. We do not subcontract out any of our services, by doing so every client benefits from our high level of professionalism.
Makin Life Easier strives to offer extensive, individualised assessments at competitive rates and prides itself on delivering a complete service from assessment to recommendations, to the ordering and provision of specialised aids and adaptations.
Makin Life Easier is based in the North East of England but we routinely travel to the North West and beyond for our expanding client base.

Kate is Health & Care Professions Council registered as well as the Northern England Regional Contact for the Royal College of Occupational Therapists Specialist Section - Independent Practice.
Makin Life Easier is fully compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation and Kate Makin is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office as a Data Controller.
Kate has experience in both mental and physical health, as well as housing and learning disabilities.
Kate keeps up to date with her Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training including attending Royal College of Occupational Therapy training days and events and attending regular legal seminars and professional updates.
